According to koodakpress، A high school teacher was arrested for forcibly cutting a student’s hair while singing the National Anthem on Wednesday at University Preparatory High School in Visalia, Calif. Captured in an Instagram video, the student sits at the front of the classroom while Margaret Gieszinger, 52, chops off chunks of hair with scissors.

“You’re not done,” she says, as the student tries to walk away. He responds, “Yes, I am,” which she answers with a singsong “No you’re not!” When he sits down, she continues cutting wildly and singing.

The video then shows Gieszinger approaching other students in the room, holding the scissors above her head as if she’s going to cut them. Clearly terrified, the high schoolers start screaming and running from the room.

Arrested by the College of the Sequoias police on suspicion of felony child endangerment with bail set at $100,000, it’s not the first time that Gieszinger has been in trouble. She previously had her teaching credentials suspended twice before in 2007 and 2016.

Those details, coupled with the fact that kids were told to return to class after fleeing the cutting teacher, have parents concerned. “We have to take it seriously when (students) come to us,” said Sara Rocha, a parent of a UPHS junior whose friend was in the class with Geiszinger. “I’ve always felt safe at UPHS. “But the fact kids asked for help and didn’t get it makes me really sad.”

However, principal Eric Thiessen said, “All students are safe.” The school district has yet to comment on the incident.
